Books We Cannot Read Just Once

The Wallabies were tagged by Ms. Adams to list books that are too good to read just once. The following is the list that the Wallabies came up with:

Berenstain Bear Books
Junie B. Jones Books
David Shannon Books
Jerry Pallotta
Any books about the Army
Harry Potter Books
Boo by Rene Gutterridge
The Pigeon series of books
Magic Tree House Books
Arthur Books
Doug series of books
Dr. Seus Books
Elmer Books
Hi Cat You Need a Hat
Better Move On, Frog
Ready Freddy
Frog and Toad Books
Eric Carle Books
We are going to tag Mrs. Parsons class.
We're going to tag my cousin, too. She has two preschool age daughters.

Wow ! The Wallabies like many types of books. The Bearstein Bears and Jerry Pallotta's alphabet books are favorite books that we share.

I am waiting for the last Harry Potter book to be published this summer and wondering if the new book will be another book I cannot "read just once."

Teacher Miss Jo-Ann!
Well, Miss Carly is not yet into reading books, though she enjoys smearing them with food stained fingers. :^)
Miss Emily, however, loves reading (ok, being read to) and can recite the words on a page by looking at the illustration. She loves The Tale of Two Bad Mice by Beatrix Potter, Green Eggs and Ham, and especially all the Mother Goose nursery rhymes because after all, she's still only 3 and loves cuddling up to be read to like a "baby."

Toby,
Thanks for telling us about Miss Emily and Miss Carly. Those are great book choices, The Wallabies still love those same books in 1st grade! It sounds like they are off to a great start being readers (what you described is reading for their ages!). Enjoy and savor that cuddling time...that's really good stuff, as you know...and it doesn't have to end any time soon either. Julia and Jackie loved to listen to a good story well into their teens! Rick and I would take turns reading--the girls would pick out the books. I think the key was--we never stopped the routine of reading to them, and we all enjoyed it so much, that there was no reason to stop until time did not allow--or they went to college--hardly can remember which came first. And Jackie would snuggle up while reading well into middle school. So, you have lots of good years ahead for that "good stuff".
Much love,
Cousin Jo-Ann
